Fine-grained mapping of carbon fuel emissions at the global scale

ADVANCING THE GLOBAL CARBON MONITORING WITH RESPECT TO FOSSIL FUEL AND BIOFUEL EMISSIONS

The project will lay out the path for mapping carbon-based fuel emissions with a spatial resolution of 10 km at the global scale and a temporal resolution of 1 hour – a goal set by the Carbon Observations Theme of the Integrated Global Observing Strategy. We invite experts in monitoring and modeling of carbon-based fuel emissions to discuss improvements to current methods, ways for validation, and how to estimate measurement uncertainties.
